AMSAIR-FG - NSF H1 synthetic food-grade compressor oil
Rotary screw and reciprocating compressors in food-contact areas.
Demand Quality. Demand Protection.
Synthetic. Long-drain. Proven.
AMSOIL started with a founder, Al Amatuzio, selling synthetic motor oil in the 1960s. In 1972 its synthetic motor oil became the first to meet American Petroleum Institute requirements, and the company has built its name on synthetics ever since.
AMSOIL Industrial is the business-to-business side of that company, selling specialty lubricants for plant equipment, from compressors and gearboxes to hydraulics and turbines. SPC can supply anything in the AMSOIL Industrial line, and compressor oil is where SPC focuses first. For compressed air, the compressor-oil line is called AMSAIR. It covers rotary screw and vane compressors, reciprocating compressors, and blowers, in ISO grades from 32 up to 320 depending on the product. The standard AMSAIR rotary oil is rated for up to 8,000 hours in a screw compressor. AMSAIR-PLUS, a PAO-based oil, lists drain intervals up to 16,000 hours at a 200°F discharge temperature. Every rating comes with the usual caveat: actual life depends on operating conditions, and oil analysis is recommended. The company runs a quality system registered to ISO 9001:2015 and an environmental system registered to ISO 14001:2015, and it blends and packages in Superior, Wisconsin. For food plants there is a separate NSF H1 registered compressor oil, AMSAIR-FG, so one brand can cover both the general plant and the food-contact zone.
SPC supplies the full AMSOIL Industrial lineup, with compressor oil as its main focus, so the standard synthetic fill and the NSF H1 food-grade fill are quoted from the same place.
Longer drain intervals mean fewer oil changes on the PM calendar.
Through the distribution network, AMSOIL Industrial availability and pricing are backed by aggregated demand across the network, with SPC as the single point of contact for quoting, grade selection, and after-sale support.
Rotary screw and reciprocating compressors in food-contact areas.
Rotary screw, vane, and centrifugal compressors and single-stage vacuum pumps.
Rotary screw compressors where the longest drain interval matters.
Single- and multi-stage reciprocating compressors, pressure-washer pumps, and blowers.
Food & Beverage Processing → NSF H1 food-grade compressor oil for plants where the lubricant or air may touch product.
General Manufacturing → Long-drain AMSAIR fills for rotary screw and vane compressors in everyday plant air.
Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Laboratory → H1 compressor oil for production areas with food-contact style audit requirements.
Automotive Manufacturing → Synthetic compressor oil for plant air in body, paint, and assembly operations.
Chemical & Petrochemical → Synthetic compressor oil for process air compressors that need long drain intervals.
Packaging & Printing → Fewer oil changes on compressors that serve high-uptime packaging lines. Rotary screw or vane: AMSAIR or AMSAIR-PLUS, ISO 32 to 68. Reciprocating: AMSAIR-RECIP or the ester-based AMSAIR-RECIP-E, ISO 100 or 150. Match the ISO grade to the compressor maker's recommendation.
Specify AMSAIR-FG, which is NSF H1 registered. Use ISO 32, 46, or 68 in rotary screw machines and ISO 100 in reciprocating machines. It is not recommended for breathing-air or refrigeration compressors.
AMSAIR is rated up to 8,000 hours in screw compressors. AMSAIR-PLUS lists up to 16,000 hours at 200°F discharge temperature. AMSAIR-FG is up to 6,000 hours. All depend on operating conditions, and oil analysis is recommended.
AMSAIR mixes with mineral oils and most synthetics, but the data sheets are specific about incompatibilities (silicone and polyglycol fluids, for example). Ask AMSOIL Industrial or SPC for the changeover steps before switching.
Tell us the spec and the account and we will come back with the right line, sourced through the distribution network.
